The Artist Behind the Hues
I’m Arpita Das, a Singapore-based fine artist originally from Assam, India — a land of tea gardens, the Brahmaputra river, and the Eastern Himalayas. I paint nature-landscapes inspired by my travels and the places that leave a mark on my soul. Many of my paintings capture the golden hour, a moment of peace and promise that reminds me tomorrow holds new possibilities.
For years, I set aside my passion, believing art wasn’t a viable career. I pursued corporate life instead, but when the world paused during the pandemic, I turned back to painting. That’s when I realised my biggest obstacle had never been practicality — it was fear.
Now I paint full-time. My work has been featured in the “Home, Heart, Heritage — 60 Years of Singapore” exhibition by LivingwithArt Singapore, and I regularly showcase at art markets across the city through my creative studio, Halvi Collective. Every painting is original, hand-signed, and made to bring a sense of calm and warmth into your space.
